The JOOLA NA Teams Championship

Finance and accounting professional
Igor Zernitsky serves Property Resources Corporation as CFO. An avid table tennis player and a member of USA Table Tennis (USATT), Igor Zernitsky competes in table tennis tournaments such as the JOOLA North American (NA) Teams 2019.

The annual JOOLA NA Teams Championship is a four-star competition sanctioned by the USATT. The three-day affair takes place over the Thanksgiving weekend. The tournament provides table tennis players from all over the US and the rest of the world with opportunities to test their skills as they compete.

The first day of the tournament, Friday, gives players the chance to play against higher and lower ranked teams based on their original seeding. Most teams play as many as 4 matches on this day. Based on the outcome of the Day 1 games, the teams are placed in a division, with each division divided into two round robin groups composed of 8 teams per group. The teams will remain in their divisions for the remainder of the tournament.

On Days 2 and 3, the teams will compete with other teams in the division. Most teams play 5 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The teams that finish in the top two places of their groups in the division will compete in the semi-final round. The winning teams advance to the finals.

At the end of the tournament, most players will have competed in 25 matches or more, with each player facing competitors of many styles and techniques. The key to succeed in this tournament is endurance.

The 2020 edition of the JOOLA NA Teams Championship is tentatively slated for November 27-29, 2020, at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington, D.C.

Why Multifamily Properties Make Great Investments

Financial professional Igor Zernitsky boasts close to two decades of experience in the finance and real estate industry. A former senior manager at Ernst and Young in New York, Igor Zernitsky currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Property Resources Corporation (PRC). This real estate company focuses on multifamily properties, which are residential properties with two or more units. There are reasons why these assets, also known as apartment complexes, can be great investments.

For example, the returns derived from this type of property are the highest in the real estate sector, with research showing their annual returns at 9.75 percent. The risk associated with a multifamily property is relatively low, as some apartments are almost always being rented and generating some income.

The demand for rentals also remains strong. More people, especially millennials, are choosing to rent apartments rather than buy houses. And by increasing or decreasing the rental fees, it’s easier to respond to changing economic conditions. This flexibility is due to the one-year leases common with these properties compared to the five-year contracts on offices, retail, and other commercial properties.

Another advantage of investing in multifamily properties is the ease of obtaining financing compared to other real estate investments. Financial institutions know they can get their money back through the multiple rental incomes from these properties, making them more lucrative than single-occupant properties. Multifamily investing is also much less volatile than other commercial real estate types.
